I‘ m one of 1,000 students which attend a language holiday in Eastbourne each year.
Most of them come back more than once to learn English and experience the British culture. This is the first time I go to a journey abroad and without my parents or other relatives. The organisation which we have chosen is Jürgen Matthes (JM).

In the afternoon my parents took me to the airport and we met my friend Leon and his parents. He travelled with me to England. What a surprise when Yannik, a schoolmate , arrived and told us that he also made a language study travel to Eastbourne. We checked in and said goodbye to our parents and passed the customs control. At 6:10 pm our plane started in Berlin-Tegel and landed in London-Heathrow about at 9 pm. Heathrow is a very large airport. We had to walk a long distance to take our luggage. The organisation JM expected us and we went by bus to Eastbourne. We arrived in Eastbourne at 12 pm . This is the right moment to say that the time in England is one hour earlier than in Berlin. Our host families took us at home. Happy to be arrived and tired I slept immediately.

At 6 o’clock in the morning I got up and took a shower. After breakfast, our host family took us Leon and me to the Town Tour. After that, I had school introduction for all schools and mini groups and I got my travelcard. In the afternoon we made an orientation rally with prizes for the winner. For the juniors up to 12 years like Leon and me, we had a meal at McDonald’s and afterward we went to the Welcome Party at Eastbournes biggest Disco Altantis. What a first day! So many impressions and things we must noted own!

Every school day I got up at 6 o’clock in the morning. We had cornflakes with lowfat milk to breakfast. Then we went by bus to our teacher Kristie at home. We were four students in our mini group. The lesson started with a questionnaire like “What is your name?, How old are you? Lastly, what do you struggle with the most in English?”. Daily we went by bus to school. In England the bus driver threat the elderly with repect and drove first, when they sat down. I wish the bus drivers in Berlin would be just as the English bus driver.

At 8:15 am we met our leader Anne at Eastbourne Station to go by bus to London.
We visited the “Warner Brother’s Studios”. In the “Warner Brother’s Studios” we saw the Making of Harry Potter. The best in the studios was the big Hagwards model. This was great! After that we went to a steak house where we ate a Burger. We were back in Eastbourne at 8 pm.What a long day!

On Thursday we did the London Sightseeing. We saw the Tower Bridge and the Big Ben. Then we went to Madame Tussaud’s. We had lunch at McDonald’s. Back in Eastbourne we went to the Fan Party and had a lot of fun.

After school we played Laser Quest at the Lloyd's Lanes Center. This was funny. After the Laser Quest we went home by bus. But at home we were surprised that there was a child for us. The name of the child was Jeria and called us always “boys”.

When the school was finished, we played again Laser Quest. We lost the first
round, but we won the 2nd round. In the evening we went to the barbecue on the beach. But it rained, so the barbecue was cancelled. We went home by bus and hoped, that we can have dinner. But our host family wasn't at home.

After School we went to Brighton by bus. We visited the sealife center. That was amazing! Then we had lunch at Subway. Back in Eastbourne we were a little bit tired. So we did't go to the roller skating party. Our first week in England was over.
Monday 29 July 2013
Today we will go to the JM photo session. After that I didn't want to go to the J.M. Rallys. I liked to play laser Quest with my friends. This day I was very good in Laser Quest. In the evening we were at the J.M. Gala dress black and white. So I dressed a black trousers and a white t-shirt. It was very funny! The music was great (and loud)!

On Tuesday we didn't have school, because we went to London by bus. So we had to get up early in the morning. The bus ride took 3 hours. So Leon slept again. Unfortunately It was raining in London. So I bought an umbrella with the Union Jack. We went with the London Eye. This was impressive! We had a good sight although it was raining. After that, most of us were shopping for 3 hours. My friend Leon and me we went to a steak house to drinking an orange juice.

This was our last school day and we played monopoly. It was an exciting game. I won the play although I had lost a lot of my money. Our teacher Kristie handed out our certificates. In the afternoon we played with friends Laser Quest. Now tomorrow would be our last day in Eastbourne.

At curzon Enterainment complex was the school assembly. We said farewell to our
leader and teacher. In the afternoon we started packing our luggage , searching to our passport and other important things. In the evening we were at the farewell party at Atlantis.
